BANK CREDIT CARDS - HOME DEPOT BREACH UPDATE

September 17, 2014

HOME DEPOT BREACH UPDATE:

BBOK Bank Card Center would like to provide you with the latest information we have received regarding the recent Home Depot Breach.  In a press release, Home Depot stated its payment data systems were breached, potentially impacting U.S. and Canadian stores.  Thers is no evidence at this time to confirm that online customers were affected or that debit personal identification numbers were compromised.  We consider anyone to be at risk who used their credit card at Home Depot between April 11 and September 7, 2014.

So far, BBOK has received six lists from Visa of potentially affected accounts and letters were sent to these customers on September 12.  In order to maintain the safety and security of the customers' card account data, BBOK has issued replacement cards.  The cards have been reissued on a delay block process which allows the cardholder to continue using their current card until the new one is activiated or within 30 days of the communication letter, whichever comes first.  We recommend that cardholders review and monitor statements and account activity regularly and notify us of any unauthorized activity with 60 days of the statement date.

The Fraud Alert Management team, Visa and MasterCard are closely monitoring fraud trends, using state of the art tools.  They are on high alert for engagement in event-specific rule strategies.  Affected accounts are monitored closely and cardholders will be contacted if account activity were to appear suspicious.

We are still in the early stages of the ongoing investigation and will provide more details as information becomes available.  If you have any questions, please contact customer service at 800-675-6284.
